A French ebonized mantel clock with glazed front revealing compensated pendulum.
With a round top encasing a 14-day dead beat movement with white enamel dial, black Roman numerals and blue steel hands. Centre has an eye-catching visible escapement and pallets with garnet stones.
Jean-Baptiste Delettrez (1816–1887), the respected 19th Century Parisian clockmaker, won a 1st class prize at the Paris World Exposition of 1857.
