Welcome to S.G Taylor

Since 1932, S.G. Taylor Clocks & Watches has provided discerning customers with quality timepieces and repair and restoration services by craftsmen of the highest skill.

We’ve been based in Somerset for three generations and we are proud of the large number of loyal customers we have in the UK and overseas. Many of our customers – including members of the British aristocracy – have been returning to us for decades.

Our carefully chosen stock consists of predominately examples of Regency, Victorian and Edwardian pieces.

Our in-house team of highly skilled craftsmen have a wealth of experience in the sympathetic restoration of all types of clocks.

All of our work is guaranteed for two years and we are insured so your clocks are covered while they are being shipped and while they are in our care.

We are happy to provide free quotations for restoration, repairs and maintenance. We also provide professional pick-up and full set-up services – just ask for more details.

Repairs & Restorations

All work is undertaken in our on-site workshop here in Paulton, Somerset, by our highly skilled and experienced horologists.

The craftsmen at S.G. Taylor Clocks & Watches have over 80 years’ combined experience and are Members of the British Clock & Watchmaker’s Guild and are Associates of the Horological Institute.

All our repair and restoration work is guaranteed for two years. Estimates are free and can often be provided while you wait.

We pride ourselves on being able to undertake all types of clock repairs and skilled restoration, including all aspects of mechanical repairs. We have sourced specialist clock case restorers and have enlisted a local specialist artist for clock dial repainting.

Whilst visiting us, you are very welcome to watch our craftsmen carrying out the restoration work in our workshop.

The shop, showroom and workshop are open 9 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am-12:30 pm on Saturdays. If you are travelling from afar, we can usually accommodate other times on request.

With over 80 years’ experience, your heirloom clocks and watches will be in safe hands of our expert craftsmen who understand, respect and love your timepieces as much as you do.

S.G. Taylor Clocks & Watches is based in Paulton village, Somerset, about 8 miles from central Bath and 13 miles from Bristol Airport.

COVID SAFTEY MEASURES:

We are now reopen Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm and Saturday mornings 9.30 – 12.30. We respectfully ask customers to wear a face covering and use hand sanitister. Only 1 customer is permitted in the shop area at any time (or 1 family unit) respecting social distancing measures.

If you wish to browse our selection of clocks and watches in the showroom we would ask that you ideally telephone to make an appointment. We hope all of our customers are safe and well and hope to be able to resume normal service as soon as it is safe to do so. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Lee and the team are passionate about antique clocks and watches and are always happy to discuss your own particular requirements. We often source particular bespoke client requests with our extensive dealer and private network often within a short timescale.
